England v Azerbaijan
England continue their World Cup qualifying campaign against Azerbaijan on Wednesday. Having lost to Poland 0-8 on Saturday, Azerbaijan are the heavy underdogs, especially as England come into the game full of confidence after beating Northern Ireland 4-0. Azerbaijan's coach, Carlos Alberto, fears his team could give up 10 goals to England if they play as poorly as they did against Poland.
England, however, would be pleased simply to win the match and earn three vital points to keep them in first place in their qualifying group. England coach Sven Goran Eriksson plans to use the same four midfielders (Frank Lampard, David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, and Joe Cole) that started on Saturday, with Cole occupying the left midfield position. After his impressive performance against Northern Ireland, Cole seems to have solidified his place in the starting eleven for England.
